I have been with Thistle Care for 2 years and 7 months now. Even before I arrived in Scotland, the Thistle directors personally guided and supported me throughout the visa process and my travels. They went above and beyond by collecting me from the airport and helping me find accommodation. In all my years of working, I have never been with a company so passionate about its staff and so committed to ensuring that everyone is well settled.
Once I arrived and was settled in my new home, they regularly checked in on me, making sure I was doing okay—especially knowing that I had left my family behind. The training I received in my role was outstanding and equipped me to master my job with confidence.
When the time came for my family to join me, Thistle once again stepped in to help me find a home. Without their support, this would have been extremely difficult, but they made sure everything worked out.
A year into my time with Thistle Care, an opportunity arose to demonstrate how much I had learned when a Care Coordinator position was advertised. I applied, attended the interview, and was delighted to be offered the role. I remain deeply grateful for the ongoing support I receive as I continue to grow and learn every day.
Thistle is now supporting me in completing my SVQ for this role, and there are numerous training and development opportunities available. Growth here is inevitable.
